Suvic will carry out the foundation and cabling work for Lakiakangas 3 wind farm

Suvic Oy is taking part in building more wind power in Ostrobothnia under the Lakiakangas 3 project.

For Suvic Oy, the Lakiakangas 3 project includes the design of foundations of wind turbines and the internal grid with their implementations. The wind farm will consist of 20 4.3 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 86 MW. Foundation work will begin in September 2020 and for Suvic, the project will be completed in April 2021. In Lakiakangas there are already two wind farms in production, Lakiakangas 1 and Lakiakangas 2, with a total of 14 wind turbines.

The client of the project is Helen in cooperation with the project developer CPC Finland. “We are pleased to start cooperating with Helen and CPC Finland. With this project, we are supporting Helen’s 2035 goal of carbon-neutral energy production”, says Juha Tikkakoski, CEO of Suvic Oy.

The rock anchor foundation method developed by Suvic Oy can be utilized in this project, which efficiently minimizes CO2 emissions. The solution significantly reduces the amount of reinforcement steel and concrete required for the foundation, thus cutting down the heavy traffic on site and reducing labor costs.
