New engineering contract in Sweden

Suvic wins anchor foundation engineering contract for 53 Nordex wind turbines

Suvic will engineer its rock anchoring foundation system for a total of 53 wind turbines located in Hästkullen, as part of Nordex’s “Nysäter” project. There will be 73 turbines in Hästkullen, which means that Suvic will be responsible for the engineering of the lion’s share of the project. The whole Nordex Nysäter project consists of a total of 114 wind turbines in a 475-MW wind farm.

“We were able to convince a major operator that our solution is both functional and cost efficient. There is great topographic variation in the Nysäter area, so our anchoring model is an ideal solution”, says Design Manager Jaakko Norrkniivilä from Suvic.

CEO Juha Tikkakoski is happy about the contract: “An engineering contract like this is a good step in the right direction for us, because it will give us a foothold in Sweden. We will be working with a major partner – the project is important when measured by any metric, and it is Nordex’s largest EPC project.”

Engineering work will start immediately and Suvic will complete the foundation engineering in the spring.
