Strengthening the foundations of a wind farm in Norway

In the summer of 2023, Suvic carried out a project in the rugged landscape of northern Norway. The aim was to make the WTG foundations in the client's wind farm last for the entire planned service lifetime of the park. The work in the wind farm involved diamond drilling to create holes 9–12 meters deep for a total of 26 anchors. As these were existing foundations, the holes were drilled between the existing rock anchors into the steel plate, the foundation, and the bedrock. Lappfjärd wind farm exansion Kristinestad

Suvic will build the foundations and the internal grid for the expansion of the Lappfjärd wind farm. The production capacity of the expansion part is 58 MW, which increases the total capacity of the wind farm to 250 MW. The rocky soil of the area enables the construction of all the foundations of the extension part as rock anchor foundations.

Isokangas - Palokangas wind farms

Suvic will carry out the foundation contract for Isokangas-Palokangas wind farms in Ii. The project includes 17 foundations, of which 16 are implemented as rock anchor foundations and 1 as a gravity foundation. The estimated annual production of the wind farm complex will be around 320,000 MWh.

Asterholma WTG foundations

The site is located in Torsholm, in the municipality of Brändö, in the beautiful archipelago of Åland. The work involved the construction of the foundations for one 2.8 MW wind turbine. The works started in June 2023 and the site was handed over to the client in early August. Due to the location and terrain of the site, the foundations were built on a rock anchor foundation of 40 rock anchors. This allowed the amount of concrete needed for the foundations to be optimised.

Pjelax-Böle-Kristinestad Norr wind farms

Suvic worked as the main contractor in the Pjelax-Böle and Kristinestad Norr wind farms. The contract includes the repair works and construction of roads, the construction of hardstands and 56 foundations. Suvic also includes underground cabling work for the internal grid and transmission line, as well as civil and casting works for the substation. The total power of the park is 380 MW and the annual yield has been calculated to be around 1.1 TWh.

Sarvisuo wind farm Simo

Suvic was responsible for the design and construction of the foundations of Finland's second-highest wind farm. The wind park was located in Simo's Sarvisuo area in southwestern Lapland. A total of 27 wind turbines were built in the wind park. For Suvic, work began in May 2020 and was completed by the end of 2020.

Merkkikallio wind farm Vaasa

Suvic was in charge of the infrastructure construction of the wind farm, including roads, cabling, and foundations. There are 15 power plants in the area, with a nominal power of 5.5 MW for each power plant, and the wingtip runs at a maximum of 240 meters.

Puutikangas wind farm Sievi

Suvic was responsible for the construction of the project's infrastructure, which included the wind farm road, hardstands, foundations, and cabling. Suvic was also responsible for the design of these units. The 8 wind turbines have a total height of 240 m and a total capacity of 44 MW.
